Angel from Old English engel (with a hard g) and the Old French angele. both derive from Late Latin angelus, which in turn was borrowed from Late Greek ἄγγελος angelos (literally "messenger")
In Judaism, angels (Hebrew: מַלְאָךְ mal’āḵ; "messenger"), are supernatural beings who stand by God in heaven. According to Kabbalah, Angels exist in the worlds above as a 'task' of God. They are an extension of God to produce protective effects in this world.
“Forget not to show love unto strangers: for thereby some have entertained angels unawares”. Hebrews 13:2
